Sing Yourself Awake
Saturday, May 6, 12:30-4:30pm
This practice will combine a vigorous Vinyasa flow series with ancient sound techniques, pranayama, and guided meditation, specifically designed to lead you to your own true voice and embodied creativity. We will explore the healing power and even medicinal uses of sound and specific instruction on how to use your voice as an aid to transformation and awakening. We will cover both the strengths and weakness of the 5th chakra, the art of purification through sound and asana, and yogic techniques to connect you to your inner truth.
Higher Ground Kirtan
Saturday, May 6, 7:30-10pm
Part tent revival, part rock show, all Bhakti, Suzanne Sterling has been called “a musical priestess, who brilliantly weaves lyric, melody and rhythm into a magical spell that entrances us to discover the sacred song within our own heart.” (Seane Corn). Her current concerts and Kirtans are a thoroughly modern exploration of devotional music and have been known to have an audience on their feet in a matter of minutes. She has been called a soulful and groove-loving musical priestess – refining and reinventing the ancient traditions of ecstatic prayer through the voice. Suzanne is a long time Kirtan wallah who brings a modern, improvisational and deeply spiritual interpretation to this ancient art form. Guaranteed to lift your heart, enliven your voice and enrich your yoga and life.
Vinyasa Flow Creativity Ritual
Sunday, May 7, 12:30-4:30pm
This practice merges Vinyasa flow, conscious movement, chanting, singing and ecstatic prayer to create a unique experience of self expression, connection and community. We will break free from the stifling grip of the inner critic and focus on freeing the natural voice; allowing our creativity to expand and tapping into our sacred self as well as our connection with the Divine.
