During the chanting at the end I started to tear up and then cry! I initially tried to suppress this, but the more I chanted, it just came out. I was embarrassed at first, but at some point, I just let it go. You then asked that people reach out to others and a few people reached out and touched me. Which was calming (thank you for that).

I can't put into words how deeply your class affected me. I am a singer, drama teacher, and performer. Now a full-time stay-at-home mom. I forgot how much music, movement, sound, and expression was me at the core. I want to do what you are doing! You have seriously inspired me.

I have been practicing yoga just over a year now and I practice 4 to 5 times per week. I have added morning chanting meditation and due to that I was interested in your class after reading the class description about vibration and using mantra for purification of the 5th chakra. I have never been able to sing. But in your class, you invited us to allow ourselves to step away from the inner critic and step out of our comfort zones.

The bottom line is.. I wanted to rock this with my throat chakra wide open and you took me to a new place. I hadn't realized how stuck I was! Also... after your class, my sinuses and ear congestion felt completely cleared! I have not felt that unstuck in ages! You are a brilliant shining light sister. Thank you for sharing the light! From the truest place in my heart... NAMASTE!

Suzanne taught me that my voice is connected directly to my thoughts and to my heart. Through her mind-body asana sequencing and the practice of using singing and chanting, I realized that my voice is an expression of my own inner world. I learned how to listen to my own vibration and how to find the quiet to listen to others. I now recognize when my body posture and my own sounds show what is going on within.

Suzanne's work and the voice of change modality is LIFE. CHANGING. Going through it myself I felt like a part of myself that had been missing had been found again. So grateful for Suzanne's work, this program, and community.

I am filled with emotion hearing the beauty of our chant, 'may we remember, who we really are.' I am very grateful Suzanne, for your authenticity and the incredible and practical wisdom of your sharing. I feel transformed physically, emotionally, and spiritually much more than two days worth. These big shifts have me seeing my world with very new eyes. I am slowing down to ask and question what is in my life. I am so happy to be re-connected with the amazing healing power of sound and to feel my own voice opened, stronger and clearer.

I haven't been able to sing for months because of this and it was really depressing as a singer being able to use my voice is my medicine. Suzanne's workshop was transformative - I would say my life depended on it. I have been symptom-free since I left, and will be going back to work on October 3rd. Suzanne's spirit and courage is contagious.

The voice workshop you did with us changed everything for me. The opening you created, the fearlessness, the creative power, the absolute joy - I took all of it with me. Everything in my role as a teacher has changed since then in a way that opens up so much potential to do exponentially more for so many kids. I just know I would not be here without you that weekend. Thank you

I just wanted to share how much I'm enjoying this course. I'm currently living in the same environment that I'm trying to heal and move on from (long story) and with the tools given in just the first 3 wks I'm feeling more grounded, focused and much lighter. So grateful for this opportunity! Thank you!!!!

This workshop was about finding not only our authentic physical voice, but about finding our authentic truth, and being courageous enough to share that rawness in community. We were pushed to the edges of our comfort zone in what we thought we could do with our voices and with our bodies. For me, I learned a deeper practice of how sound heals, how each note lives within my body, how poetry is written when you least expect it, and I left inspired to share what I learned with others, to create community and to serve all life.

Suzanne Sterling’s Voice of Change class was transformational for me. Suzanne’s practice – and the practice she shares with students – is both expansive and grounded, practical and profound, unabashedly mystical at the same time it is very much of this life, in present time and place. She teaches a practice that embraces both acceptance of what is and imagination and curiosity about what might be. Suzanne is unerringly compassionate and welcoming. She holds space that is as safe and conducive to personal exploration as is possible, without shying away from the uncomfortable and scary aspects of rigorous self-inquiry.
